Woohoo Weekend with Wonderful Women

Lisa Steadman's Woohoo Weekend 2011

As a work at home mom, I often feel isolated sitting alone in my den in front of my computer. However, this very computer has connected me with many amazing and incredible new friends. We support and cheer each other on. What a blessing this is.

That’s why I’m so excited for this coming weekend! Here in Los Angeles, on October 15th and 16th, Lisa Steadman’s 2nd Annual Woohoo Weekend is taking place. Lisa has put together a team of experts who are sharing their best success secrets on “how to build a purposeful and profitable business, strike a balance between family and career, and have it all without losing your mind, shirt, or dignity”. Well, ok, I’m pretty good at the business building part, but I definitely lose my mind more often than I care to admit. Of course I need to attend this. But even better….

I’ve been invited to speak on a panel!

My dear friend Ally Loprete, who runs Our Milk Money (and is much better at the balancing act than I am) has invited me to be a part of her “Babies and Business” panel this weekend. Thanks Ally!

Not only do I get to put on some lipstick and get out of the house (you probably don’t realize how rare that is for me), but I will be soaking in the empowering support of many like-minded women. Just what this gal needs!

I’ll be sharing my thoughts on “Be Yourself, Teach Yourself, Share Yourself” - my little story of self-taught business success, but between you and me, I’m looking forward to learning a lot about some of the things I’m not so great at, like balance.

Ally juggles the whole work/life thing a lot better than I do (we chatted about it in this recent video). She’ll be addressing this common dilemma, sharing success tools in her infectiously upbeat, can-do style. This dynamic lady is a wife and mom of 2 small boys who connects and supports self-employed parents through Our Milk Money. Ally is also the host of the popular weekly radio show This Little Parent Stayed Home.

Listen to what she had to say on last Friday’s show about our upcoming weekend:

More amazing women!

I can’t wait to meet Ally’s other panel guest, Shannon Penrod – autism advocate, author, and celebrated host of Everyday Autism Miracles. Through her blog, books, and radio show, Shannon inspires so many, and is the perfect example of  “surviving and thriving with children on the spectrum”.

If you’d like to attend Woohoo Weekend, there are still a few seats left! Use Ally’s discount code OurMilkMoney when you sign up :) We’ll be there all weekend. Woohoo if you can join us!

Hi Kelly!
Looking forward to meeting you this weekend. I am a work at home mom, too and also a speaker at this event. Nice to get out of the house, leave the family behind, get dressed up and talk about my passions, as well as be with some fabulous women. Nice post and see you in a few days!
